About Hilltop Medical Practice

Our mission is to provide quality, innovative and accessible healthcare to make you feel and stay healthy. To achieve this mission, our dedicated team of experienced health practitioners and nurse, practice at a high standard and has the knowledge, skills and resources to take care of your needs. Fees and Billing Arrangements

All consultations with general practitioner will be bulk billed if you have a valid Medicare card or Veterans Affairs card. There may be additional costs for referred services provided by other health care providers within or outside of this practice.

Hilltop Medical Practice provides a wide range of services with affordable and holistic health care. Please be mindful some services are not covered under Medicare and may attract a private fee. Some services may attract Medicare rebates (To discuss eligibility, please see your Doctor) or Private Health Fund rebates. Fees will be confirmed through the assistance of our staff member prior to the consultation.

A standard GP consultation fee of $50 is applicable for patients without Medicare card on both weekdays and weekends.

Hilltop Medical Practice welcomes patients with Work Cover concerns. The decision to take on cases is on an individual basis and up to the treating doctor.

Appointments

Visits to our GPs do not require an appointment however appointments can be made over the phone or in person. You may book appointments from 8:00am to 6:00pm Monday to Friday. Urgent cases will always be dealt with promptly as a priority. Longer consultations are available if and when required. If you or a family member requires an interpreter service we can organise this for you. Depending on your circumstances, home visits may be available.

Telephone and Emails

When contacting our medical centre by phone to speak to a doctor, please be aware that we can pass on your information and message, however we will not interrupt another patient's consultation. Please be advised that this is not in lieu of a consultation.

Our doctors do not communicate via email for medical purposes to ensure your privacy, as this is not a secure, encrypted service.

Ethical Code

This practice is committed to providing comprehensive general practice care to all individuals and families in this community. We DO NOT discriminate against patients on the basis of their gender, race, disability, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander origin, age, sexual preference, beliefs or medical condition.

Recall and Reminders

We are committed to preventative care. This practice offers a system of recalls and reminders. We may issue you with a reminder notice from time to time offering you preventative health services appropriate to your care. We also participate in the state reminder system. If you do not wish to participate in this system please inform your doctor.

Test Results

Your doctor will give you instructions on how to obtain results for pathology and imaging results. In general, results will be given during consultation.

Privacy

Your medical record is a confidential document. It is the policy of this practice to maintain security of personal health information at all times and to ensure that this information is only available to authorised members of staff. We abide by the National Privacy Principles.

Parking

There is limited parking spaces available adjacent to the centre, with ample parking available in the streets nearby. Disabled Parking is also available. We have patient wheelchair access from the front door to reception and through to our consultation rooms.

Public Transport

Hilltop Medical Practice is easily accessible by public transport.

By Train: The nearest train station is Merrylands station.

By Bus: You may wish to take either bus no. 809 or 818 from Merrylands Station and alight at the 9th stop. Alternatively, you may also take either bus no. 810 or 811 from Parramatta Station and alight at the 12th stop.

After Hours Care

If you need urgent medical attention outside of our normal surgery hours, please contact Sydney Medical Services on 1300 466 347. Patients with a valid Medicare Card or Veterans Affairs Card are Bulk Billed for home visits. If the patient is not registered for Medicare, or details cannot be validated, fees will be applied. This service is available during weekdays from 6:00pm to 8:00am, Saturday from 12:00pm. Sunday and Public Holidays - 24hours.
